Here's the 10-minute cut, plus the part we think you'll want most: what teachers who piloted the portal this year actually had to say about it.

The short version

The UFLI Assessment and Planning Portal takes Friday's progress monitoring data, the spelling assessment every UFLI teacher already gives, and turns it into a fully built small-group plan for the week ahead: who needs support, on which days, doing which manual activities, for how long. No more manually sorting scores into intensive reteach, reteach, and review groups. No more flipping back through the manual to find the right word chain. It's built directly with UFLI, using UFLI's own team to determine which activities map to which need.

But the best part of the webinar? The teachers who talked about their experience piloting the tool

We pulled in three pilot teachers to share their experience live, and their reactions were the highlight of the night.

Jessica, a second-grade teacher in Hobbs, New Mexico, talked about how much mental math the portal took off her plate: she no longer had to sit and puzzle out on her own where each kid belonged. Seeing an entire week's small-group plan on one page, she said, was a game changer, and she was already texting her principal about it mid-webinar.

One of our two Jacquelines, self-described "data nerd," said the portal solved the exact problem she'd been wrestling with all year: not just who to pull into small groups, but what to actually teach them and for how long. That confidence, she said, changed how she felt walking into her intervention groups.

Our other Jacqueline, a former interventionist now teaching first grade, put it simply: after years of manually sorting through progress-monitoring pages to figure out groupings, having the portal do that instantly, activities and all, was almost hard to believe.

Across all three, one thread was consistent: less time buried in spreadsheets and manuals, more time actually teaching.
